Time got away from me last week. My parents were visiting which was wonderful (and oh so helpful), but of course I still had my hands full and barely have two hands free in order to write a blog post.
Baby Brother–who still needs a good blog name, but we’ll just call him BB for now–has been a great baby. Well, maybe I shouldn’t say things like great or easy because I think I have the benefit of experience this time around so I’m a little more laid back about stuff.
Anyways, I’ve been able to get some good stretches of sleep at night, but during the day I’m still juggling the kids. I’m trying to keep Donut busy and happy and still find time to hold her and play with her all the while trying to balance the evening nurse-a-thons and multiple diaper changes of a newborn.
I haven’t cooked in weeks since I’ve had help with my parents here and did I mention that Mr. DIH got 2 weeks of paternity leave? Woo-hoo. I have someone to help with the housework too. So where is all of my time going? I really have no clue.
All I know is that I spend a lot of time trying to attend to the needs of one child or another and maybe squeeze in a shower. Oh and I did have mastitis last week so that really didn’t help matters.
I don’t really know where I’m going with this post today but I wanted to write an update on what’s been going on at our house. We’re just taking things one day at a time and some days drag and others fly by. This is life and it’s not really exciting but I’m cherishing the days that my kids are little. Or at least I’m cherishing most days. I know they’ll grow up far too fast.
We’re still searching for our rhythm. I haven’t been on my own yet since we’ve had so much help. After this week I will be though, and yes I’m nervous. I keep telling myself that I figured it out once with Donut and we’ll do it again. We will.
