Hey friends! C’mon in. Things have been a little hectic this week, but you’re always welcome here on Fridays!
If you’ve been around here long enough, you know what to do. If you’re new to linking up, you can link up or with my fabulous friend Sara. Please grab the button and visit as many other linker-uppers as you can!
1. I’ve been quiet again this week.
2. Because we’ve been sick. AGAIN. We went a whole year without being sick and now twice in a month.
3. I don’t know how Donut manages to recover so much faster or easier than her dad or me. I feel like I’ve been knocked off of my feet for days.
4. Of course I don’t have someone making all my meals, cleaning up after me and carrying me around 24/7.
5. Moms never get a sick day, do we?
6. I’ve also had some friendship drama going on over here.
7. I honestly don’t know what’s more exhausting–physical illness or relationship drama.
8. Now I admit, I do like drama. Just not in my personal life. Drama is what reality TV is for. It’s amusing to watch and then press the off button and be done with it.
9. I need a real-life off switch. Or at least an easy button.
10. You know how I like to make last minute holiday crafts?
11. Yeah, I’m making a Valentine’s shirt for Donut. Like right now. And I’m going to be mean and make you wait until next week to see it. Because I’m not quite done. I haven’t finished stabbing my fingers with the sewing needle yet. Kidding.
12. Maybe.
13. It’s amazing how excited I get for any holiday now that I have a kid. This is my chance to be all cheesy and have her wear fun outfits that she’ll probably cringe at one day.
14. Oh well. If I have to change poopy diapers, I get to pick the outfits, right??

I love your last minute craftiness. I’m sorry Y’all have been sick. And also about the friendship drama. That’s yucky on top of yucky….. I hope you have an awesome weekend though!!!!!

Thanks. My husband is now sick so this is the 2nd weekend that someone’s been sick, lol!
Yup as long as your cleaning poop – or heck raising them – we have a right to dress them no matter how humiliating. At least that’s what I’m going with.

I knew you’d side my side of it!
Sorry you haven’t been feeling well. I think moms should get sick days too!

I agree we should. I think a spa day will help me feel much better.
Dealing with drama and sickness together isn’t fair! Sorry you’re going through this. Can’t wait to see cute Donut in her Valentine’s ensemble.

You’re right–it isn’t fair at all!
Sorry you’re sick again, I know how it is!! (it’s round 2 for us too, in just as many weeks) Get well soon and look forward to Donut’s cute V-Day outfit!

Ugh, sorry you all are sick too. So not fun.
Ugh – being sick is the absolute WORST – especially as a Mom! This has pretty much been the worst year for us as far as illness is concerned, likely because we have had a kid in daycare for the last year. Talk about germs. It seems like it is going on non-stop. Thankfully, despite a few coughs from me, I think my entire family is healthy right now.
I hope you get healthy and rested too!

I can imagine the day cares are crawling with germs right now. I know that’s gotta be tough. Hope you all manage to stay well these next few weeks!
I’m so sorry you’ve been sick. But if last minute crafts make you happy and excited, then I think they’re wonderful and well worth any trouble. Hugs!

Yes, crafts do help me feel better, I just wish I didn’t wait until the last minute to do them!
Ugh I hope you feel better sweetie. And you are so cute with your crafts. If only I was crafty…

Making crafts is therapeutic for me. I just wish I wouldn’t do them last minute.
Have her wear the cutesy outfits as long as she’ll take it! Hope you feel better.

I definitely plan on dressing her up while I still can!
STOP THIS! Get healthy. I don’t like hearing you are in the dumps. As for the friend stuff- wouldn’t it be nice to be a dude in this situation? They never have drama. It’s always so cut and dry for them.

Seriously, B never seems to get into this kind of mess. Now I understand his whole I-don’t-need-friends philosophy.
We were the same way…Nolan wasn’t sick for a whole year then BAM it was back to back! It was ridiculous. I hope you get better soon! I can’t wait to see the V-day shirt! I’m sure she’ll be cute as a button. Have a nice weekend friend!

Thanks Natalie. Being sick is just not fun. Hope you all stay well too!
sorry you’ve been sick. it’s exhausting to take care of a sick one when you are too.

It’s very exhausting. I needed naps too!
Oh could you imagine if you did have someone do all those things for you in number four? Whenever I’m really tired or sick I ask the husband if he will brush my teeth and wash my face for me. Those night time must-dos are just so overwhelming when sleepy or ill. (He says no, by the way). Hope you feel better soon! Can’t wait to see Donut’s outfit.

What, he says no? What kind of husband is he?? Everything seems so much harder when you’re not feeling well.
I’m sick this week too! Boo!
Yes, if you have to change the diapers, you get to pick the outfits. It’s a law.

I’m glad you agree with me!
I hate that moms don’t get a sick day. Being sick with a kid who bounces back (or barely seems to realize he’s sick) makes me feel old.
Love your craftiness. Can’t wait to see the latest.

I don’t understand how kids barely miss a beat when they’re sick. I wish I could bounce back as quickly.
Oh no! Boo sickness
And you’re still going to truck on through and make a shirt?
Martha Stewart would be so proud.
Kimberly recently posted..I Bet You’re Wondering…
Martha Stewart’s got nothin’ on me! Ha!
Sorry to hear you guys are sick again. It’s true that we moms almost never get sick days!
I, too, love holidays now that I have at least one munchkin old enough to appreciate them. Making Valentines was never as fun as it was this year when we did them together! Can’t wait to see the special Valentine’s shirt you’re working on.
Feel better soon!

It is so much more fun with kids. I’m really getting into the spirit of things.
We’ve been sick here, too – I’ve been dragging so much at the end of the last couple weeks with at least half the household sick that I haven’t even managed to write a Friday Life’s Lessons post! I hope everyone at your house feels better and the friendship drama goes away. Can’t wait to see Donut’s Valentine’s outfit!
