I know, I know, I shouldn’t point out all the bad stuff about me, especially after the past few weeks where I’ve been a Negative Nellie all day long. But this is all for fun and nothing too serious. I can’t be perfect all of the time, you know?
According to Jessica, this week’s listicles are about 10 things I’m not good at. Here we go!
1. Shutting down my computer at the end of the day. Just one more tweet!
2. Being organized. I have boxes and baskets and labels everywhere. I just don’t know how to use them.
3. Setting realistic goals. I want to do it all–be a master chef, a photography maven, the next Martha Stewart of the craft world. Maybe I should start small by just making dinner tonight.
4. Writing things down. I say I’ll remember but I know I won’t yet I still have a hard time writing things down.
5. Getting out of the house and meeting people. I have got to work on this, people. Give me a kick in the rear and make me go out there.
6. Scrubbing the bathtub. I seriously would rather clean the toilet. I hate cleaning the bathtub!!
7. Remembering things that happened last week. Or even yesterday. I’d blame it on mom brain but I was that way before I became a mom.
8. Starting projects and not finishing them. I have half-knitted scarves on knitting needles, fabric cut out begging to be sewn, photographs quietly sitting waiting to be edited.
9. Planning ahead. Last minute gal, right here. As evidenced by me writing this blog post today instead of last night.
10. Listening to my voicemail. I don’t know why, but I let messages pile up before I listen to them. I figure if it’s urgent I’ll get a text or another call.

I hate cleaning the tub too! Ugh but dusting is my least favorite. And I forget things all the time…I’ll even go to the grocery store and still forget items!
Natalie recently posted..Wind, Rain, and a Salt Water Pool
I do that too at the store–even with a list!
The bathtub is such an awkward shape. I never feel like I get it clean enough.
Voicemails are overrated. I’d rather you text me! Haha

Voicemail is very overrated. So 90′s!
Love your list, Rach! I have a horrible memory too. I always think there’s no way I’ll forget this time…but then I do. That’s why I have to remember to carry my ‘brain’ and a pen everywhere. I haven’t been doing so great at that but someone reminded me the other day, so I’ve been doing good since then.
jacqui recently posted..Based On A True Story…
I tell myself I should carry around a pen and notebook, but then I forget…
Love this. I am raising my hand to all ten too!! I have a major VM issue. But I learned pressing #7 deletes them without listening. Or was it just 7 you should press? Clearly I have major #7 issue too
Stasha recently posted..Monday Listicles
Yeah, I don’t know what to press to delete them either.
That list is so normal. I would write that exact list (except for the chef part). Wait, maybe you are not so normal after all.
When you figure out how to do it all, please let me know.

Ha! It’ll be a long time before I get it all figured out!
Ahem. And the list of things you *are* good at is … where?
story recently posted..Okay, universe, I get it already
I know, I know. Hubs asked the same thing. I’ll work on it.
Rach, I have entire craft cupboard full of unfinished craft projects (at least 2/3rds of them knitting projects). Sigh. I guess we just don’t want to spend time doing things we don’t want to do when we don’t want to do them… or when something more interesting comes along.
Cookie’s Mom recently posted..I have some mad skills. These are not them.
Exactly. I’m very undisciplined. I’ll get to it when I feel like it!
I’m the same way with baskets and bins. I get this crazy urge to organize, buy a ton of stuff that’s supposed to help and then everything ends up in a pile of the floor.
Miss Marina Star recently posted..I Love That I Suck
Yup, same here. I guess I should figure out what needs to be organized before I buy all the fun pretty boxes.
Ooh yeah, I’m bad about shutting my laptop down at the end of the day too.
Rach recently posted..Little Lasagnas for Leap Day!
It’s an addiction. *sigh*
Scrubbing the bathtub for me is not as bad as cleaning the shower. Ugh. It’s a lot of work, and you either get all wet, or have to do it when you’re IN the shower. Neither is appealing.
Yeah, hate that!
Sharon {Grumpy, Sleepy, and Bashful} recently posted..10 Things I Simply Cannot Do
I just hate the scrubbing of the tile and all the corners. It is alot of work. Maybe I should count it as my cardio.
Yes! I count my cardio as getting my 16 month old daughter dressed. After that, who needs to pay for a gym membership?
Sharon {Grumpy, Sleepy, and Bashful} recently posted..10 Things I Simply Cannot Do
I stink at getting out of the house and meeting people too, but you knew that already.
Oh, and shutting off the computer? Forget about it. I’m addicted. I have a problem.
I know, I have a problem with that too. It’s just too dang fun.
I definitely identify with 1, 3 & 8! My project graveyard is massive, lol.

I have so many things I want to do but I have to remind myself to finish what I’ve started.
Voicemail drives me crazy. The only reason I check it is because I don’t like seeing the number of messages on my display screen.
Jessica recently posted..Proving Myself Wrong
Yes, after a few weeks it gets to me too so I reluctantly check it. I should just tell people not to leave a message after the beep.
Great list, I think I hit a few of these myself, but I didn’t include one of yours that is awesome….I hate checking VM. Only until the iPhone threatens me incessantly do I finally check them…thanks for the giggle, looks I should have had a 20 things I am rubbish at list, instead of 10!
Shannon from mynewfavoriteday recently posted..10 things I am not-so-good at: a #MondayListicle!
Seems like a lot of people don’t like checking VM. Let’s start a revolution!
I can never remember what happened yesterday, dude. It’s definitely #mombrain.

I know. I barely know what day it is.
Well, we definitely have #6 in common. I was watching my son in the bathtub last night and I could not even think of when the last time was that I scrubbed that tub. Residual soap has to somewhat clean it, right?
Gin recently posted..10 Things I am Rubbish At
That’s what I tell myself too.
it’s like you’re my long lost twin…
I have 56 voicemails waiting, I turn off my computer and then turn it back on a million times a day, I have a journal to make lists and notes, but I keep losing it…
and my before I was a mom brain has already left me wondering what the rest of your list was…
Not a Perfect Mom recently posted..Word
56!! That’s crazy! I think I’d start chewing my hand off if I was away from my computer for more than a day.
Umm…are you sure you weren’t writing about me? Girl, we are so alike we should hang out. Except we’ll both probably forget we made plans to hang out and it’ll be pointless to call each other and leave messages because we won’t check our voicemail and we’ll probably need our husbands to kidnap us, blindfold us and then throw us out of the car since we both hate meeting people. Wow, that all sounds really daunting but I am confident we can get together!
Sarcasm Goddess recently posted..It’s Like Big Pimpin But With More Pinning
I think all the people I really like and get along with are hermits like me so it’s basically impossible to get together without some herculean effort.
I love reading your post because I always relate! Especially #3. I try to do it all. Then by the end of the day, I’m exhausted so my school work usually experiences the “slacker mom” side of me.

Yes, I go and go and go then all of a sudden I just fizzle out and make my husband get take-out for dinner!
I’ve been getting worse and worse about checking voicemail too! It must be a sign of the times! I rely on social media more. But I’m not ready to give up my land line!

I figure that I’ll just call back after seeing the missed number so I don’t need to listen to the message.

#10 me too. Why? I don’t know. It’s a weird thing.
I also don’t get out much. I like being a homebody but …. When I go out with friends…it makes me kind of not want to go home…kidding…maybe.
Ps. You are awesome just the way you are
Xoxo

Yikes…I have so many of the same things on my list if I’d actually write it down!
I used to write things down all the time, but I’d still forget. So now, from home I’ll email myself at work or leave myself voicemails.
How ridiculous?!?
